Synopsis:
Play takes place in present-day small-town America. It is a dark comedy.
SEEKING:
1.) MALE (40s; any ethnicity) - CARMICHAEL/MERVYN UNDERSTUDY. Both onstage roles are cast; seeking one male actor with excellent comedic skills as Understudy for both characters (40s). Carmichael: One-handed man. Mysterious and dangerous. Has violent tendencies, but also is always in control. Mervyn: The hotel clerk. Slightly off-center, curious and a bit nosy;
2.) MALE (20s; African-American) - TOBY UNDERSTUDY. Onstage role is cast. Seeking Understudy only. Desperately tries to talk his way out trouble. Urban, smart, tough but tends to break under stress. Seeking an actor with excellent comedic skills;
3.) FEMALE (20s; any ethnicity) - MARILYN UNDERSTUDY. Onstage role is cast. Seeking Understudy only. Marilyn is in her 20s. Pretty. Toby's girlfriend. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but resourceful and opinionated in her own way. Seeking an actress with excellent comedic skills;
