Act In Theatre Play "The Book of Lambert"
La MaMa E.T.C. is casting The Book of Lambert, which depicts the lives of several lost souls living in the subterranean depths of an abandoned NYC subway station.
SEEKING:
MALE (late 20s to early 30s; African-American) - LAMBERT. Intelligent, attractive, delusional former English teacher, recovering from a doomed romance with a beautiful young Caucasian woman, passionately struggling with his sense of identity, writing a book on life;
FEMALE (mid-20s to early 30s; African-American) - BONNIE. Pregnant, single mother-to-be, former drug addict, physically and emotionally bruised, yet a determined fighter;
MALE (50s to 60s; African-American) - OTTO. Blind, yet once had “the best eyes around,” disconnected and self-absorbed, has given up on the world;
FEMALE (50s to 60s; African-American) - ZINTH. Otto’s wife, bitterly disappointed with Otto, still desperately wants to live, passionate, emotional, a hopeless romantic;
FEMALE (late 20s to 30s) - PRISCILLA. Multi-ethnic woman of color, oversexed exotic dancer who clings to her dream of becoming a Broadway star, passionate and spunky, yet filled with self-doubt;
MALE (50s; Caucasian) - CLANCY. Former policeman, has repressed the fact that he was in love with his African-American childhood teacher, has also forgotten that he’s Irish;
FEMALE (late 20s to early 30s; African-American) - MISS WAMBAUGH. Clancy’s childhood teacher, perky and warm, yet maintaining a firm sense of discipline, part of Clancy’s memory
